Paneer Chana Masala

Chickpeas are very versatile, full of protein as well. I have seen chickpeas been used in everything these days, from savoury to sweet dishes, I absolutely love it.

I made this dish as a side to go with Pitta, but it can be paired with rice or couscous as well. its easy to make and very quick too.

ingredients:

  • 1 red onion, chopped
  • 1tbsp ginger/garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp roasted cumin powder
  • 1 tbsp chaat masala
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • salt to taste
  • 250g Paneer, diced in cubes
  • 1 tin of chickpeas drained
  • chopped coriander

Method:

  • Add a little oil or fright light to the pan
  • when the oil is hot add red onion, when the onion is translucent add ginger/garlic paste and cook for 2-3 mins
  • paneer and chickpeas, cook for 2-3 mins
  • add cumin powder and cook for another 5 mins
  • in the end add chaat masala and chopped coriander

Note:

have a squeeze of lemon if you prefer.
