Some days just need a spicy yummy curry, do you get those days too? Well when I do get those cravings chicken curry comes to mind always, just the way my mum used to make for us.
Using same ingredients, well almost. I tried to mix too dishes in one, make curry base as usual but with my twist and added meat balls for luxurious curry.
I made curry without oil, in a pressure cooker, you can also use slow or instant cooker. Check out the recipe below to know how to make it.
This curry is healthier version of what I have grew up eating but itās still no doubt very tasty. I have used lean meat to keep it healthy. You can easily swap with meat alternative mince or chicken to make the same dish.

ingredients: (2-3 portions)
- 2 medium onions, minced in food processor
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 350 ml Passata or tinned tomatoes, but i prefer passata for curries
- 2 green chillies, finely chopped
- 1tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 inch of cinnamon stick
- 2 crushed cardamons
- 2 tbsp fenugreek leaves
- salt to taste
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tbsp of curry masala
Meat Balls:
- 200 g lean mince
- 1 tbsp sriracha sauce
- 1 tbsp sundried tomato paste
- salt and pepper to taste
to finish with:
- frozen peas and coriander for later
Method:
- In a pressure cooker/instant pot/slow cooker add all the sauce ingredients, add 500ml of water, put the lid on the cooker and cook on low flame for 40-50 mins after the pressure is formed. If you using instant pot or slow cooker follow their instructions
- Meanwhile mix all the meat balls ingredients and shape them in golf size balls
- I cooked meat balls in airfyer on 180’c for 10 mins
- Once the sauce is ready, add peas, meat balls and coriander and cook for 15 mins
- Garnish with more coriander and enjoy!
