It taste more like Indian sweet pastry with filling of almonds and coconut with hint of cardamom for that burfi like texture and flavour. All plant based ingredients and with healthy fat and sugar.


Ingredients: (makes4-5)
- For pastry
- 5 tbsp plain flour or sub
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 tbsp maple surup
- 1 tbsp water, add 1 tbsp more if needed
- for filling
- 4 tbsp ground almonds
- 2 tbsp desiccated coconut, blended in mixer or use powder coconut
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
- 1 1/2 tbsp tahini paste
Method:
- For pastry, mix flour and coconut oil with fingers until breadcrumbs consistency, then add syrup and water to make a dough, if the dough is too tight add little more water. Set aside for atleast 30mins in room temp
- For filling mix all the ingredients
- Roll the pastry to a 1 pound thickness, cut into squares, take small amount of filling place on one square then cover with other square and with thumb press down to seal
- Bake in preheated airfryer for 8-10min on 180’c
