Puffed rice, peanuts and sesame all bundled together in jaggery/gur to make these absolutely yummy treats. I have had made brittle of these ingredients only they were all single ingredients but in this recipe I used all of them….lol and why not they all together taste even better.

Recipe need only few ingredients, and doesn’t involve too much of cooking, and it’s ready in no time. Only tricky part is warming jaggery and mixing ingredients in it quickly before it solidifies and it does get very hard and non useable. So tip is to heat jaggery not until it’s fully melted, just when it’s nearly dissolved and take it off the heat or off the microwave and mix to make lumps get dissolved. Another tip is to keep everything ready to mix in jaggery before you start heating jaggery. And always add ingredients to jaggery mix and not other way round.

Nonetheless it’s very delicious and satisfying. It’s just sweet enough to east as a treat. I have really enjoyed eating and making them. Check out the recipe below x
Ingredients:
- 60g jaggery or caramel
- 30g puffed rice
- 30g peanuts, skinless and roasted if possible
- 2 tbsp sesame
- 1/2 tsp crushed funnel seeds
Method:
- In a pan on medium heat, dry roast puffed rice for 2mins, stir constantly. take them out in bowl
- Now add peanuts if they are not already roasted and dry fry for about 3-4 mins until their skin starts to come off, take them out on a plate, let them cool. Once they are cooked take the skin off and lightly crush them with rolling pin
- Now add sesame seeds dry fry for about 2 mins, they will turn slightly golden and release little oil, stir constantly
- In pestle and motel crush funnel seeds to almost powder
- I have used jaggery but this will work perfectly with caramel as well. I normally add jaggery in a bowl and microwave for about 20 secs and some more if needed until it’s liquid, need to make sure you are not over heating it so when it still has some lumps take it out and mix well
- now need to work quickly as jaggery solidifies quick, so add everything in jaggery mix and mix well, and shape them in balls
- They will harden as you make them, even crispier later
