Thandai/Protein Milk

THANDAI is traditionally made on holi in India, its nutritious and full of protein. Can be a good post workout out drink or morning smoothie.

It’s delicious and super powerful.

Ingredients:

  • 200ml cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup almonds
  • 1/4 cup pistachios
  • 1/2 tbsp poppy seeds (khus khus)
  • 1 tbsp pumpkin seeds
  • Handful dried rose petals
  • 1/2 tbsp fennel seeds
  • 1/4 tsp whole black pepper
  • Couple of strands saffron – optional
  • 2 tsp sugar or more for more sweetness
  • 200ml chilled milk
  • ice cubes as required

Method:

  • Take all the dry ingredients(other than saffron and sugar), soak in hot water, just cover the nuts cover and leave it for atleast 30mins
  • Grind the above to fine paste
  • Mix in milk and water, sugar, saffron
  • Serve chilled with ice or hot
